鹰逝（外四首）
鹰翎飘飞涅槃的痛苦
余音袅袅
目光与夕阳触碰
雷鸣自九天之上倾泼而下
鹰翅，再也驮不动
时光的沉重
鹰，消逝在远天的云里
鹰，消逝在目光的断崖
万里苍茫，因此
风萧萧，冷雨如注
鹰是殉道者
鹰之涅槃，皈依
一种希求与崇仰
灵的天国，可有鹰温暖的巢么？
磨刀石
一把刀，经过你的打磨
变得锋利无比
变得越来越薄，越来越短
你和刀，仿佛一对生死冤家
千次万次，在与刀的厮磨中
你变得老态龙钟
而刀越来越瘦
瘦到风烛残年
一辈子的痛
只有磨刀人心里最明白
只有刀最清楚——
刀，磨走了你的生命
你，磨毁了刀的一生
暗器
暗器无形，像一颗
突如其来的
子弹呼啸着，无声无影
它能将你在不知不觉中击倒
当被击倒后
你才发觉
暗器速度之快
让人防不胜防
世界上自有人发明
这种暗器之后
某些使用者
变得丧心病狂
专躲在暗处，伤人
许多无辜者，无形中受伤
佛说
佛说——一个人
只要放下了屠刀
就能立地成佛
一个助纣为虐的人
一个变成魔鬼的人
还能成佛么？
一个灵魂肮脏的人
一个阴险毒辣的人
还能成佛么？
一个贪得无厌的人
一个欲壑难填的人
还能成佛么？
一个杀人不见血的人
一个丧失了人性的人
还能成佛么？
佛说——一个人
只要放下了屠刀
就能立地成佛
点亮一盏灯
点亮一盏灯，照耀黑夜
我无法抗拒灯光的诱惑
沿着灯亮的方向
我看见灵魂的崇山峻岭
在黑影中闪现
有风的夜晚，我看见
墙头草，风吹二面倒
无风的夜晚，我看见
一些看风使舵的船
混淆在茫茫人海里面
在有风无风的夜晚
我都看见，一些贪得无厌的
蛀虫或者丧失良心的人
在啃食人类崇高的灵魂
亦或制造低级的精神鸦片
白天，灯光熄灭
我什么都看不见了
我只看见一些道貌岸然者
高高在上呼风唤雨
口中振振有词，舞之、蹈之
高声地念着一本正经的谎言……
Tang Gang [Chongqing]
Death of the Hawk (and other four poems)
The feathers of the hawk fly with pain after rebirth,
With sound lingering on.
Eyes confront the setting sun;
Thunderstorm pours from the highest sphere.
The wings of the hawk can no longer carry
The weight of time.
Gone is the hawk into distant clouds in the sky.
Gone is the hawk onto the cliff out of sight.
Vast is the sky. Therefore,
The wind soughs; Cold rain pours.
The hawk is a martyr.
The rebirth of the hawk is conversion,
A hope and esteem.
In soul’s heaven, is there a cozy nest for the hawk?
Knife Grinder
A knife ground by you,
Becomes extremely sharp,
Thinner and thinner, shorter and shorter.
The knife and you seem foes of life and death for a whole life.
In a myriad times of grinding,
You become so senile
And the knife gets thinner and thinner
Till its dying year.
The lifelong pain
Is buried in the heart of knife grinder.
Only the knife is most aware:
The knife has worn away your life;
You have ground the life of the knife.
A Hidden Weapon
A hidden weapon is unseen,
Unexpected, like a bullet
Whistling, unformed
And hitting you unawares.
When you are beaten down,
You found
Its speed so fast
That you can no way escape it.
Since its invention in society,
This hidden weapon
Is used by some people
Who are frenzied
And hide in the dark and hurt
Many innocent people unseen.
Buddha Says
Buddha says, a person
Can become Buddha
When he has laid down his butcher’s knife.
Can he become Buddha?
A person helping a tyrant to victimize his subjects?
A person who has become a devil?
Can a soul-defiled person
Or a sinister and ruthless person
Become Buddha?
Can an avaricious person
Or an insatiate person
Become Buddha?
Can a person that kills without spilling blood
Or a person that has lost human nature
Become Buddha?
Buddha says, a person
Can become Buddha
As long as he lays down his butcher’s knife.
Light a Lamp
Light a lamp, let it shine on the knight.
I cannot resist the temptations of light,
Toward the direction of the light,
I see hills of soul
Flash in the shadow.
On a windy night, I see
Grass on the fence fluttering both ways.
On windless night, I see
Some ships ready to trim their sails with the wind,
Hidden in a huge crowd.
On nights windy or unwindy,
I always see some avaricious borer
Or people who have lost moral
Gnaw lofty souls of mankind
Or make vulgar spiritual opium.
During daytime, lamps are put out.
I can see nothing.
I can only see some sanctimonious people
Control forces of nature on the high,
Shouting with slogans, dancing,
Telling a loud poker-faced lie.

唐刚，中国当代诗人，1952年生，原名唐岗熙，重庆奉节人。著有诗文集55部，已出版《唐刚短诗精选·炼狱的歌声》等13部，并被国内近百家图书馆收藏。1980年开始文学创作，先后在《青年作家》《星星诗刊》《诗刊》《人民日报》《秋水诗刊》等海内外报刊发表诗作近2000首，发表散文、报告文学等百余篇。1995年加入四川省作协，2018年退出重庆市作协并辞去奉节县作协副主席。2017年被评为“纪念中国新诗百年·百位最具活力诗人”。2016年捐出毕生稿费20万元，设立“唐刚诗歌奖”。首届、第二届唐刚诗歌奖已于2019年5月、2023年5月在诗城奉节隆重颁发。第三届参赛诗集正在征集中。
Introduction to the poet:
Tang Gang, a contemporary poet, born in 1952, named Tang Gangxi by birth, is a native of Chongqing. He has 55 collections of poetry and has published 13 books such as Select Short Poems by Tang Gang: Songs from Purgatory, which have been collected by almost one hundred libraries. He began to write in 1980, and published almost 2000 poems in newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad such as Young Writers, Xingxing Poetry Periodical, Poetry Periodical, The People’s Daily and Qiushui Poetry Periodical. He has also over 100 essays and reportage. In 1995, he joined Sichuan Writers Association. In 2018, he quit Chongqing Writers Association and resigned from vice chairman of Fengjie County Writers Association. In 2017, he was appraised as one of the most vigorous poets in memory of one hundred years of China’s new poetry. In 2016, he donated 200000 Yuan to set up Tang Gang Poetry Award. The first and second awards were issued in Fengjie a county of poetry respectively in May 2019 and May 2023. The third collection of poetry for contest is under way.

李正栓，河北师范大学教授、北京大学文学博士、英国斯特灵大学荣誉博士、博士生导师。省高校教学名师、省社会科学优秀青年专家、省中青年社科专家五十人工程人员、省有突出贡献的中青年专家。
中国英汉语比较研究会典籍英译委员会会长、中国译协理事、中国译协专家会员、河北省翻译学会会长。
译著主要包括毛泽东诗词英译、乐府诗英译、藏族格言诗英译、彭斯诗歌汉译。
讲授英美诗歌、英国文艺复兴时期诗歌。主持国家在线一流课程《英美诗歌欣赏》。
About the translator:
Li Zhengshuan, PhD of Peking University, Honorary Doctor of University of Stirling, is a professor at Hebei Normal University. He has got the titles such as Top Teacher of Hebei Province, Middle-aged Expert in Social Sciences of Hebei, one of the 50 Middle-aged Experts in Social Sciences of Hebei, Middle-aged Expert with Prominent Contribution to Hebei.
He is chair of the Committee for Translating Chinese Classics into English under China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, Council member of Translators Association of China, Expert member of Translators Association of China, Chair of Hebei Translation Society.
His translation works include English translation of Mao Zedong’s poems, English translation of Yuefu poetry, English translation of Tibetan Gnomic verses and Chinese translation of Robert Burns’ poems.
He teaches English and American poetry, British renaissance poetry. He presides over the national online first-rate course “Appreciation of English and American Poetry”.
